Research coordination activities will be promoted in order to achieve the following major objectives:
Promoting the cooperation between academy and industry: receiving information from industry about their needs and provide the scientific research results to the green applications in the main four areas: (I) raw materials; (II) clean solvents; (III) energy; (IV) production of minimal amounts of waste in appropriate forms.
Assess opportunities for the improvement of industrial processes through the implementation of more efficient and sustainable processes, particularly in the case of food and cosmetic industries.
To determine the causes of failure of implementation of GREENERING processes from the industrial point of view, through the involvement of the stakeholders.
Propose multidisciplinary guidelines for the evaluation and validation of new and existing processes and their translation/scale-up to the industry.
Provide training to young researchers focusing on a translational approach of green technologies to the market, through a series of entrepreneurial activities.
Facilitate the access to equipment and infrastructures available within the consortium, promoting staff and research exchange and knowledge sharing.
Evaluate and propose new lines of research and development and technological innovation in the green technology field by publication of Guidelines and training.
The GREENERING COST Action will bring together experts in complementary fields of science, from Academia, Companies and Private non-profit institutions. The Action is committed to promoting inclusiveness and supporting promising researchers from less research-intensive countries across Europe. The proposed Action will enhance links and coordination between international and nationally funded research programs in fundamental and applied research, bridging the still existing gap between academia and industry.
The participants will share their different know-hows. The interaction between researchers will exploit the networking opportunities offered by the COST scheme (Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSM), Working Group meetings and Action Workshops) in order to achieve the Actions tasks. In short, the capacity-building objectives of the proposed Action is expressed by:
COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. COST Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation.
